THE ELDERLY MAN charged with the death of his 12-year-old granddaughter also faced two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse when he appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Winfield Nurse, 68, of Accommodation Road, Bush Hall, St Michael, was not required to plead to murdering Rasheeda Bascombe, sometime between January 2 and April 1, 2002.
He was also charged with having unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl between January 1, 1987, and December 31, that year, as well as having sexual intercourse with another girl, between January 1, 1999, and December 31, 2000.
Magistrate Deborah Holder remanded Nurse, who was represented by Michael Koeiman and Kristin Turton, to HMP Dodds until July 1. (HLE)
