Making waves

Self-taught artist Barbara Pickering is among a long list of local artists displaying their works during a group exhibition at Barbados Arts Council, Pelican Village, on the outskirts of the City.
Pickering started her journey in art in Canada and as the saying goes, she has never looked back.
While her subjects are wide and varied, the beautiful beach scenes pictured on this page are sure to capture your attention when you visit the gallery.
Pickering’s work has been featured in oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolours, still life and portraits – a mixture which belies the fact that, after all, she is a self-taught artist.
To view more of Pickering’s creations and those of other artists, be sure to visit the Barbados Arts Council sometime soon. (CH)
