TWO MEN CHARGED with firearm offences were remanded to HMP Dodds until June 2 after appearing in the Holetown Magistrates Court today.
Amandeo Kephar Henderson Yearwood, 26, of No. 5 St Catherine Close, Haynesville, St James was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm and 17 rounds of ammunition.
Yearwood and 23-year-old Shomari Ayo Durant of No. 28 Oxnards Crescent, St James were jointly charged with wounding with intent and endangering life, and also had separate charges for the use of a firearm.
Just after midnight on May 3, a number of people were under a shed at Halls Village # No 2 in the same parish when a car came up the driveway. The occupants of the car got out and allegedly shot at the group, causing them to flee.
One person received gunshot injuries, and was hospitalised.
The police later detained the driver of the vehicle.
The following day, a search warrant was executed at Yearwood’s home and the gun and ammunition were found. (PR/SAT)
