No giving up the race

LESS SPONSORSHIP and a reduction in foal numbers are some of the challenges facing the Barbados Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association (BTBA).

President Peter Odle made this assertion at the BTBA’s and Barbados Turf Club’s Garrison Turf Awards held at Island Inn Hotel over the weekend.

He said that it was a difficult time for most countries which have horse racing and that his committee was working on several initiatives.

Those in attendance were reassured that the BTBA had no intensions of throwing in the towel.

He also urged everyone to give back to the BTBA in any way they could as the association looked forward to make the awards bigger and better. (MK)
