For the 69th anniversary of the party, Democratic Labour Party members put on a glitzy affair to mark the beginning of their 60th annual general conference last weekend.

The large crowd seated in the refurbished George Street Auditorium  listened to  greetings from representatives of  overseas-based branches of the party; were entertained with performances by calypsonians Colin Spencer and Ian Webster and witnessed the presentation of awards to DLP stalwarts.

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart told guests the evening was about celebration and camaraderie and when the formalities were over, there was excitement as everyone filed out to the spacious grounds of DLP headquarters, meeting and greeting each other over cocktails.
