PM: No Cahill without my OK

THERE CAN BE NO Cahill gasification plant without his say-so.

This was the emphatic declaration from Prime Minister Freundel Stuart on the topic that has galvanised the island in the last few months, with Opposition MPs and other members of the public calling for full disclosure on the proposed waste-to-energy facility.

Stressing that Barbadians generated more waste now than at any other time in the island’s history, Stuart said one of Government’s missions was to make the island an “environmentally sound place”.

“The Government has to look at many, many options for the management of our solid waste challenges and come up with the best solution,” he said. (HLE)
