Soaking up the spirit of the season

ON A BREEZY evening  at Wanstead Ridge Park in St James, scores of people gathered last Friday to have their spirits filled with Christmas cheer.

It was an evening for families and friends to enjoy, as performer after performer, whether singing, dancing or making music, brought joy and smiles to the faces of those gathered at the picnic tables, sitting on folding chairs or on blankets close to the stage or on the slopes.

It was another year of Carolling On The Green and as host, parliamentary representative for St James South Donville Inniss, said it, was about bringing some Barbadian family life and Christ back into Christmas.

Festive music filled the air as the choirs from West Terrace Primary and Queen’s College, Samantha Leacock And Friends, Promise, who were really good, Sparkle T, Williams-Niles, Denis Warner and SJS Thorpes Cultural Group sang familiar tunes.
