Water woes now a crisis, says Mia

BARBADOS’ water woes have been categorized as a national crisis.

That was the view of Opposition Leader Mia Mottley as she addressed hundreds of residents from water-starved communities in St Thomas and St Joseph at a Barbados Labour Party (BLP) community meeting at St Bernard’s Primary, St Joseph, on Tuesday night.

Explaining that there was no more important a project to the people and Government of Barbados than to find a short and long-term fix for the island’s water crisis, Mottley said the matter should be the main priority in the new year.

“This is not a Water Authority issue. This is a water issue affecting one in every four Barbadians in this country,” Mottley said.
