Barbadians in Brussels safe following bombings

MINISTER OF FOREIGN Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean, has given the assurance that Barbadians based in the Embassy of Barbados in Brussels are safe following bombings today in that European country.

She was speaking at the beginning of the 6th Round of the Caribbean-China Consultations at the Hilton Barbados Resort. According to her, a report from Barbados’ High Commissioner in the United Kingdom, Guy Hewitt, indicated that Embassy staff was safe. 

Reports out of Brussels indicate that there were two attacks on the airport and one in a subway station in Belgium’s capital, which killed at least 30 persons and wounded about 230 more. (BGIS)
