Visitor pleads guilty to drug charges

A VISITOR IS FACING 18 months in HMP Dodds after failing to pay a fine imposed in the District B Magistrates Court today.

American Everett Kesua Daley, 39, pleaded guilty to possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of 5 kilos of cannabis.

According to a police media release, Daley was searched at Customs after arriving in Barbados by air on Saturday.

The cannabis was discovered in two shoe boxes in his luggage.

Daley pleaded guilty when he appeared in court. He was fined $80 000 forthwith or 18 months in jail, but the fine was not paid. (PR/SAT)
