It is not clear exactly when it fell, but the tree is said to have been there at Martindale’s Road for about three hundred years.

Several teams from the Roving Response Unit, the Barbados Defence Force, the Royal Barbados Police Force and other relevant agencies are on site clearing the area.

Power and telephone lines are down and electricity to the immediate area was also turned off.

The road was cordoned off at both ends to facilitate the removal and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes. (SAT) [tecnavia_gallery slug=”tree-falls-martindales-road” view=”expanded”]
