Barbadian all-rounder Roston Chase could be in line for selection to both cricket squads when the West Indies tour New Zealand at year-end for two Tests and three Twenty20 internationals.

Chase, 28, who has played 35 Tests, impressed in this year’s Twenty20 Caribbean Premier League, scoring 225 runs at an average of 37.50 and taking nine wickets at an economy rate of 4.65 runs an over in leading St Lucia Zouks to their first final, which they lost to Trinbago Knight Riders.

It will be the Caribbean’s side second series this year following the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic after playing a lead role in restarting international cricket with the three-Test biosecure series in England in July.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) confirmed on Monday the regional side would undertake the November 27 to December 15 series after New Zealand Cricket (NZC) received the thumbs up from their government to host the tour. (EZS/CMC)
