Two positive COVID-19 cases at the Ellerslie School have resulted in their cricketers self-quarantining for two weeks and the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) abandoning the team’s final Twenty20 Shield match.

The BCA yesterday issued a programme adjustment related to the Ellerslie School following the announcement of the temporary closure of Black Rock school by the Ministry of Education.

The BCA noted that “after a series of discussions with relevant stakeholders”, it was decided that Ellerslie’s ninth series Zone “D” Shield match scheduled for Sunday against leaders Crane Resort St Catherine at Bayfield “will be deemed a no-decision.”

“Both teams will be awarded points in accordance with the tournament regulations,” the BCA said. (EZS)
