Fast-rising jockey Louis Philippe Beuzelin, who learned his craft in Barbados at the Garrison Savannah, is making a name for himself in Singapore.
Beuzelin booted home a brace over the weekend at Kranji when he won the afternoon’s second and third races astride Ablest Ascend and Iron Ruler.
For his first win, Beuzelin put the three-year-old bay gelding Ablest Ascend to the lead in the 1 200 metres sprint for restricted maidens.
They were chased into the home straight by River Brilliance, who eventually took third place, and Strong N Smart. Ablest Ascend finished strongly in the turf event to hold on from the fast finishing Lim’s Dreamwalker by half-length in 1:10.83 minutes. (LY)
