Two people tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Barbados among the tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness said they are a 64-year-old male visitor, who arrived on Air Canada on October 8, but whose travel originated in Nigeria; and a 56-year-old Barbadian female, who came into the island on British Airways on October 11. They both tested positive after retests.

Meanwhile, two people were discharged from isolation on Wednesday. There are now nine people in isolation, while 207 people have recovered. Confirmed cases have risen to 224, comprising 119 females and 105 males.

The laboratory conducted 448 tests for COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total for the year to 31 982. (BGIS)
