Democratic Labour Party (DLP) candidate Floyd Reifer cast his ballot in the St George North by-election at the Glebe Polyclinic in St George around 7:30 a.m. today. He was accompanied by his wife Amanda and uncle Herbert Reifer.

Afterwards, he told the media it had been a tough campaign but he was thankful for the support of his family, friends and the DLP, especially president Verla De Peiza.

Reifer said his next step was to make sure people were able to vote.

“Today is a full day for me. I’m going to move around and make sure the drivers are getting the people to come out and vote, especially the older folk. We have a bus for the disabled as well, so basically it’s about ensuring the whole operation is flowing like clockwork. I will be moving around to the different boxes . . .,” he said. (CA)
