Defending champions UWI Blackbirds and Chargers continued their bid to win the Goddard Enterprises Limited Division One volleyball league title when the action continued on Sunday at the Wildey Gymnasium.

UWI, who are also the knockout queens, recovered from their straight-sets meltdown against Burger King Clapham Toners in their last game by easily defeating Pan American Insurance Warrens 25-19, 31-29, 25-19.

The rebuilding Warrens fought desperately to claim the second set to deny UWI the critical maximum points.

Chargers, who also needed to claim maximum points to set up a tense finish against UWI, were tested by Phoenix Security Services Carlton.  However, the inconsistency of Carlton allowed Chargers to ease home in straight sets, 25-16, 26-24, 26-24. (KB)
