The Royal Barbados Police Force was thrown into a state of mourning today when one of its officers passed away suddenly.

Frank Goodridge, a Sergeant based at the Bridgetown Port, collapsed and died at his post, minutes after having a friendly conversation with two colleagues.

Police public relations officer, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss told Nation News that Goodridge, a veteran of more than 40 years, would be sorely missed.

He leaves to mourn a daughter.

“The Royal Barbados Police Force wishes to express sincerest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Frank Goodridge,” Inniss said. “Members of the Goodridge family have already been provided with counsellors, and police officers will also receive counselling.

“This is a shock. We all know Goodridge in the Force because he’s been around for so long. He will be greatly missed.” (BA)
