Wood, Corbin rule Vaucluse

Former BimmaCup champion driver Ryan Wood gave notice of his intentions as drivers settled a warm-up eight-stage single venue allstage rally at the Vaucluse Raceway last Sunday.

Under overcast skies, ‘Woodie’ as he is affectionately called in local and regional racing circles, and navigator Sean Corbin, in the BMW 318ti, returned an overall total time of 34 minutes 58.39 seconds, compared with 35 minutes for brothers Robert and Ian ‘WeeWee’ Warren.

They were among 14 other pairs,  including female driver, Natya’ Princess’ Soodeen and Justin Sisnett,  who settled the opening four stages of the event.

The Warren brothers led the charge at the end of the first half with a time 18 minutes, 22.75 seconds and Wood and Corbin second with a time of 18 minutes, 24.76 seconds. (TT)
