Roads closed for Independence Parade

Several roads in The City will be closed to vehicular traffic to facilitate the staging of the Independence Salute to the Nation in National Heroes Square on Monday.

Wharf Road will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, November 30. As a result, no traffic will be allowed across the Charles Duncan O’Neal Bridge from Fairchild Street and Independence Square.

In addition, the following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Independence Day: Bridge Street from its junction with Fairchild Street and Wharf Road; Charles Duncan O’Neal Bridge from the junction of Probyn Street and Fairchild Street; Broad Street from its junction with Prince William Henry Street; Shepherd Street; High Street; Palmetto Street; Marhill Street; and Rickett Street.

Also, no vehicles, with the exception of official vehicles, will be allowed access to St Michael Row.  Therefore, vehicles travelling along Constitution Road and Crumpton Street must turn left towards the River Terminal, or right on to Garnett Street or Church Street.

No parking will be allowed on Fairchild Street, Constitution Road, Roebuck Street, Prince William Henry Street, Lower Broad Stree; and Probyn Street on Independence Day between 5 and 10 a.m. (BGIS)
