Two of Barbados’ most long-standing sports administrators Conde Riley and Randy Harris are thrilled to be awarded the Gold Crown of Merit and say the accolades speak volumes for the local sporting industry.

BCA president Conde Riley.

Both Riley, president of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA), and Barbados Football Association (BFA) boss Harris were honoured yesterday morning in National Heroes Square, the City, as Barbados celebrated its 54th year of Independence.

Riley accepted the award for his contribution in the field of cricket.

“It was a surprise. When I joined the BCA board in 1996, I just got to work and people figured that I contributed significantly and hence the award. I would be one of many people who would receive awards in my time for cricket. I am just one of them.” (AGB)
