Police made a breakthrough in the unnatural death of Adrian Ricardo Banfield, who was found in his home at Zores Land, Martin’s Bay, St John, on November 18.

On Wednesday, James Larone Downie, 38, also of Zores Land, appeared in court charged with murder of the 57-year-old.

Downie appeared at the Oistins Magistrates’ Court before acting Magistrate William Richards. He was not required to plead to the indictable offence.

He was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prisons Dodds, St Philip and is scheduled to reappear on December 9 at the District ‘C’ Magistrates’ Court.

Banfield’s son discovered the body on the floor of the home around 6 p.m. that day.
