Some residents in Halls Road, St Michael, are calling for Member of Parliament for St Michael South Central Marsha Caddle to meet with them after a business in the area was shut down.

Millennium Car Care, operated by Wayde Gale, came to a screeching halt on Wednesday after Government officials bulldozed the area under police watch.

Gale, who also owned the neighbouring Millennium Auto Tint, had been occupying the spot for almost 20 years. He said he had pulled his pocket and spent almost $15 000 to see the venture take off, only to see it come crashing down two weeks later.

“Out here had plenty old cars that used to harbour a lot of rats. The health inspector got the old cars moved, so the youngsters out here decided they want to do a car wash. I paid to get it paved, I got some barber green, bought tents and some other equipment to get them started to keep the youngsters within the area employed,” he told the Saturday Sun.
