Former priest stabbed to death at home

GEORGETOWN, Guyana – Police launched an investigation after the body of a retired Anglican priest was found with stab wounds at his home in Georgetown on Monday.

The police report that 82 year old George Chuck-A-Sang, who lived alone, was found with multiple stab wounds. It is believed that he was killed sometime between Friday and Monday.

According to the police, his body was found by his daughter Renata and the current Priest Monsell Alves.

The daughter reportedly told the police that she last spoke with her father on Friday and called him again on Monday and when he did not answer his phone, she met  Alves and went looking for her father.

They later found the retired priest lying motionless in his underwear. The body was found with about seven stab wounds and his forehead was swollen.

The body was escorted to Georgetown Public Hospital and he was pronounced dead on arrival. (CMC)
