In less than 24 hours after it was announced that Government was investigating a number of recent cases of COVID-19 infections, management of four restaurants, as well as the Port St Charles residences and a bar, issued notices indicating they have been impacted by the disease.

Holetown, St James-based Red Door Lounge and West Bar Barbados, as well as One Eleven East at Speightstown, St Peter, along with Café Sol in St Lawrence, Christ Church, all released public notices indicating that their establishments would be closed until further notice.

Red Door stated: “As the country faces new restrictions in the fight against COVID-19, we will remain closed until further notice. This is due to the fact that a person who recently received a positive test result visited a few spots over the weekend, including Red Door Lounge. Our staff have been tested today and will remain in quarantine until given the all-clear.”

West Bar Barbados attributed its situation to a family member of one of its staff testing positive for the virus. The restaurant announced that all of its staff were in the process of being tested. (MB)
