Virtual visits suspended at HMP Dodds

Virtual visits with inmates at Her Majesty’s Prisons Dodds have been suspended, until further notice.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Information and Public Affairs said in a media statement that this comes as a result of a number of prison officers and prisoners either testing positive for COVID-19 or being in quarantine. This has therefore resulted in a reduction of available dedicated prison resources to oversee the process.

The ministry “apologises for any inconvenience this may cause, and assures family and friends of inmates that their safety remains a priority during this time”.

Normal visits will resume as soon as circumstances allow, the statement said. (BGIS)
