The Barbados Immigration Department will remain closed today, Friday, January 8, to facilitate further sanitisation.

A media statement said the department will reopen on Monday, January 11, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

People with appointments originally scheduled for Monday, January 4, may keep those appointments for the scheduled times on Monday, January 11.  Those with appointments for Tuesday, January 5; Thursday, January 7; and Friday, January 8, may visit the office on Tuesday, January 12; Wednesday, January 13; and Thursday, January 14, respectively.

In addition, Chief Immigration Officer, Wayne Marshall, has also encouraged people to call 832-4102 in the event of an emergency.

He also said that the sanitising of the department was being done as a precautionary measure, after two customers tested positive for the virus, and regrets any inconvenience caused by the closure. (BGIS)
