There were six new positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) on Sunday, and ten people were discharged from isolation.

These were the only positives – two women and four men – among the 819 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. The results represent a mixture of locals and visitors.

Of the six new cases, two are male inmates from Her Majesty’s Prisons, Dodds. The total number of cases at HMP Dodds is now 227 – 58 staff members and 169 inmates.

There are now 478 people in isolation. To date, Barbados has recorded 884 confirmed cases – 368 females and 516 males. Additionally, 399 people have recovered from the viral illness.

Seven people have died.

The public health laboratory has completed 83 905 tests since March 2020. (BGIS)
