The Government of Barbados has extended the existing curfew from January 14 to January 31, 2021.

The 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew was implemented on January 2 to allow the Government to better assess an outbreak of COVID-19 cases in Barbados. It is intended to restrict activity and movement which could lead to the further spread of the disease on the island.

The extension will restrict the gathering of crowds which might also create conditions for increased COVID infections.

A full update on the current situation will be given at a press conference on Thursday January 14. (PR)
