Details are scarce, but the men and women were seen sitting on the pavement inside the gate, standing outside near the road and sitting on cardboard on the grassy area across the Mighty Grynner Highway.
The entrance was blocked by cones and potential customers had to turn away empty handed, such as Ralph Hewitt who wanted stove parts and Rohan Ali who came for a refrigerator.
There was a brief meeting with managers at 10:05 a.m. but workers had not yet returned to the job. (CA)
