There is danger in numbers, especially for motorcyclists, says president of the Barbados Road Safety Association, Sharmane Roland-Bowen, who is against such groups together on the road.

She made the comments following yesterday’s serious accident, where a number of motorcyclists were injured on the Barrow section of the ABC Highway between Graeme Hall Roundabout and Garfield Sobers Roundabout.

An eyewitness told the Weekend Nation that about 30 cyclists were riding together south-bound when the spill occurred. A vehicle was also involved in the collision and ended up in a mangled state.

Roland-Bowen said cyclists tended to take more risks when travelling in groups. (MB)
