The Barbados Postal Service said yesterday that the acceptance of mail for posting to Canada has been suspended with immediate effect, as a result of reduced transportation capacity.

Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau also said yesterday that Canada’s main airlines Air Canada, WestJet, Sunwing and Air Transat had agreed to suspend flights to the Caribbean and Mexico as part of measures to control the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) there.

Air mail services to Grenada, St Vincent, Antigua, Jamaica, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom will continue until otherwise notified. (PR/KG)
