Marshall: No wild, wild west

For the two days between when Barbados’ emergency directive ends and the newest lockdown begins, the island will not be allowed to mirror the “wild wild west” Attorney General Dale Marshall told the country last night.

The current emergency directive finishes at 5 a.m. on January 31, but Marshall said it continues until February 2 and Barbadians should stay in their houses, as advised by the Prime Minister.

Speaking during a nationally televised press conference, Marshall said law enforcement would be very visible during that two-day space before the lockdown commences.

He also revealed that Government was still in the process of fine-tuning a final list of mini-marts in communities across the country that would be allowed to open their doors between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. when the lockdown is in effect from February 3 to 17.
