The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) has had 46 cases of COVID-19, but none has been staff to staff or staff to patient transmission.

In at least one case, a doctor came down with the illness but the transmission was traced to the mother, revealed  Director of Medical Services Dr Clyde Cave. There are now 21 cases of the virus among staff at the hospital.

A battery of officials from the QEH, including executive chairman Juliette Bynoe-Sutherland, took to the Starcom Network’s Down To Brass Tacks yesterday in response to Senator Caswell Franklyn’s appearance on the radio call-in programme.

Franklyn had stated that some nurses at the QEH were complaining about the lack of access to personal protective equipment (PPE), and other employees felt hazard pay should also be coming to them. (AC)
