Popular Discounts, Spooner’s Hill, St Michael, was closed today for sanitisation after a staff member received a positive result for coronavirus (COVID-19).
“We at Popular Discounts were today advised that one of our non-frontline staff at the Spooner’s Hill location has received a positive test result for Covid-19,” a statement from the company said.
“The staff member was tested on February 11, and has been at home in self-quarantine awaiting the result since then. We are diligently following the protocols as outlined by the health authorities which includes identifying his primary contacts. These primary contacts have already been sent for testing for COVID-19. They will be off work until results of their tests are known.
“Out of an abundance of caution we have also taken the decision to close the branch today, February 16 for comprehensive and professional sanitisation.”
The branch is scheduled to reopen tomorrow “in a safe environment for our staff and customers”.
