Edwards expected to make T20I return for Windies

Fidel Edwards is set to make a return to the West Indies Twenty20 International squad for the international home series against Sri Lanka next month in Antigua.

Cricket West Indies is expected to announce the 13-member squad for the three-match series today and Nation News Online understands that the 39-year-old fast bowler will be named in the team.

The Barbadian right-arm pacer previously featured for the Windies in the T20 format against the same opponents nine years ago in them 2012 ICC World Twenty20, which the Caribbean side won under Darren Sammy in Sri Lanka.

Edwards has played 20 T20Is for the Windies, taking 16 wickets at an average of 31.06. He has also played 55 Tests and 50 One-day Internationals.

Edwards has been unavailable for West Indies duty over the past six years, after signing a Kolpak deal with English county side, Hampshire.
