Three men were fined $250 each Friday for breaching COVID-19 Directive No.4 by not wearing masks.

Shaquawn Joseph and Dwayne Trim, both of Hinds Gap, Halls Road, St Michael, along with Jaquan Stoute, of Marlhole Gap, also in St Michael, all pleaded guilty to contravening the Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Curfew) (No.4) Directive 2021, by failing to wear a mask in a public while at Hinds Gap, Halls Road, on February 22.

The three men apologised and insisted they would never disobey the law again.

Joseph and Trim were back in the court, following their appearance at District “A” Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Manila Renee last week on drug charges. They were both placed on bonds to keep the peace, Joseph for six months and Trim for a year, respectively.

On the not wearing masks charges Magistrate Elwood Watts imposed the $250 forthwith fine, with the alternative of seven days in jail. The fines were paid.

The matters were heard in the District “C” Magistrate’s Court, which is sitting at the St Matthias Magistrates’ Court. (RA)
