Residents of Thicketts, St Philip, are getting uneasy over activity involving agricultural land which they have been utilising for many years.

A day before Barbados went into a shutdown because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the residents held a meeting in the community to discuss what they observed to be “strange activities” involving people driving “up and down” the land and measuring unused plots between their homes.

However, businessman Allan Kinch told Nation News that Thicketts Plantation was owned by him and his former wife and that they were selling the land, which he said was being used by “squatters”.

The residents have since sought the assistance of parliamentary representative Dr Sonia Browne to get to the bottom of the issue. Nation News spoke to resident Wayne Hunte. (Video by Sandy Pitt)
