The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) said in a statement today that it does not repair burst pipes within customers’ homes.

“It has come to our attention that someone purporting to be an employee of the Barbados Water Authority approached the occupants of a home seeking entrance allegedly to fix a burst pipe someone had reported inside the house.

“If a customer requests that a representative of the Authority visits their property to address an issue, an appointment can be arranged and all BWA personnel should produce picture identification and be attired in the uniform issued by the Barbados Water Authority,” the statement said.

“Persons are guided that under no circumstances should they allow any strangers to enter their home. Please be aware and stay safe.” (PR)
