UPDATE: Man injured in City fire

One man was injured in a house fire at Wellington Street, The City around noon on Saturday.

Divisional officer with the Barbados Fire Service Mervin Mayers said the man, who is in his 50s, was burned on his hands and head. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.

The man was one of four tenants who resided at the four bedroom wall structure. The Fire service received the report of the blaze around 12:08 p.m.

Three tenders, two from Arch Hall and one from Bridgetown, and about 11 firefighters responded to the blaze. (TG)
