The search for a missing goat unearthed a gruesome discovery yesterday in St Andrew.

Farmer Richard Hoad and his daughter Donna were searching a hilly part of their Morgan Lewis district when they came across a human skeleton.

Hoad said they stumbled upon the remains clad in a pants and shirt around 1 p.m.

He recalled that more than a month ago they had noticed a strange odour while out looking for a lost animal. They dismissed that smell as that of another dead animal.

“We always said we would investigate. Today we went down there and at first we saw a dead cow, but then we saw the skeleton in a shirt and pants,” he said.

Hoad described the ridge that stretches from Morgan Lewis to Foster Hall as difficult to climb and very remote.

The year started with ten people being unaccounted for since 2020. Last week, police sent out a fresh public appeal for help in locating three people. (AC)
