January 14, 2019, is forever etched in Brian Hunte’s memory – he was shot five times. But he beat the odds and is alive today.

He can move his hands and his feet, but he can’t stand on his own. He has no sensation in his left foot from the knee down but can move his right toes a little.

The father of three boys – aged 12, eight and three – spends a lot of time in bed as sitting in the wheelchair is uncomfortable.

He wants assistance raising enough cash for surgery so he could get back on his feet to help himself more and take care of the boys and his mum. (Video by Jameel Springer)
