Some staff at the Gordon Cummins District Hospital in Rock Hall, St Thomas, staged a sickout yesterday and have threatened further industrial action if their concerns are not addressed.

They told the DAILY NATION the health care facility had been plagued with problems for the past three years and they could no longer have their complaints falling on deaf ears.

“There are seven kitchen staff at the hospital; two were off and the others called in [sick],” said one worker. “It wasn’t anything planned but it seemed like everyone was upset. People are fed up and have reached their boiling point.” (SB)
