Two Panama footballers test positive for COVID

Two players on the Panama national football team tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of their clash with the Barbados Tridents on Thursday in the CONCACAF FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

According to the Panamanian Soccer Federation, goalkeeper Luis Mejia and attacking midfielder Alberto Quintero are asymptotic for the coronavirus.

“Both footballers are without symptoms and, early this Wednesday, a second test was carried out in order to confirm or not the first results obtained”, the statement said.

The players will not feature against Barbados. The match is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. (AGB)
