In Bridgetown, business owners spoke about how shopping has been since they reopened last week Monday, following six weeks of closure, and how they were surviving.
In Tuesday’s Daily Nation, both chairman of the Barbados Private Sector Association Edward Clarke and former president of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Eddy Abed, said business had experienced a brief surge but things had since fallen off. This was confirmed by the business owners.
Manager of Sock Man in Tudor Street, Charmaine Gibson-Persaud, said they were forced to lay off staff but were hoping to rehire soon. (CA)
