Six new COVID cases

Six new positive cases – one male and five females – were identified out of the 450 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Friday, March 26.

Three people were discharged from isolation after recovering from the viral illness and the number in isolation now stands at 155.

Barbados’ confirmed cases moved to 3 609, 1 732 females and 1 877 males, and there were 3 422 recoveries. Forty-one people succumbed to the viral illness.

Since February 2020, the public health laboratory has carried out 139 417 tests.
Meanwhile, 877 people were vaccinated on Friday under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.

To date, 63 689 vaccinations were administered, with 26 325 males and 37 364 females receiving the first dose of the vaccine. (BGIS)
