Tridents edge Anguilla 1-0 to keep hopes alive

The Barbados Tridents registered their first win in the Concacaf FIFA World Cup qualifiers tonight with a 1-0 victory over Anguilla at the Felix Sanchez Olympic Stadium in the Dominican Republic.

Midfielder Emile Saimovici scored a header from Ryan Trotman’s set piece in the 81st minute to give Barbados an important win in Group D.

The result means Barbados moved to third position in the group on three points behind Panama and Dominican Republic who are both have six points after two games.

This brings an end to the current campaign. Barbados will take on Dominica and the Dominican Republic in June. (AGB)
