A 54-year-old landlord was fined and also placed on a bond after he admitted breaching the COVID-19 protocols as well as stealing some concrete blocks.

Vibert Alphonso Ambris, of Lot 5 Deans Land Development, Silver Hill, Christ Church, pleaded guilty to contravening Paragraph 3, Sub-paragraph 1 of the Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Curfew) (No.6) Directive, which requires all people to remain indoors from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., in that he left home while not being an employee of an essential service or person who had an emergency, on March 24.

He also confessed to stealing 15 concrete blocks worth $37.35 belonging to Lolita Patricia Bowen on the same date.

Prosecutor Sergeant St Clair Phillips told the District “C” Magistrates’ Court, which is sitting at the District “B” Oistins Magistrates’ Court, that police received reports of a man in Deans Land Development moving blocks. When they arrived, they saw Ambris with a concrete block in his hand walking across a lot. (RA)
