Seven new virus cases, 11 people recover

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified seven new positive cases – all females – of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Wednesday, April 7, from among the 453 tests conducted.

Eleven people recovered from the virus and were discharged from isolation. There are 95 people in isolation.

Barbados has recorded 3 704 (1 795 females and 1 909 males) confirmed cases of COVID-19 since March 2020. A total of 3 576 people have recovered from the viral illness. There have been 44 deaths.

The public health laboratory has so far conducted 144 608 tests.

On Wednesday, nine people were vaccinated as part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.

To date, 63 747 vaccinations have been administered – 26 350 men and 37 397 women. (BGIS)
