11 new COVID cases, 8 recoveries

There are now 100 people in isolation after 11 new positive cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Friday, April 9.

The new cases, four males and seven females, were identified from among 587 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Meanwhile, eight people recovered and were discharged from isolation.

Since March 2020, there were 3 719 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (1 804 females and 1 915 males).  A total of 3 587 people recovered, while 44 died from the virus.

The public health laboratory conducted 145 814 tests, since February 2020.

To date, 65 867 people – 27 134 men and 38 733 women – have been vaccinated as part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19. (BGIS)
